Positive thoughts from Lockdown #10



There have been tears of disappointment, frustration and happiness...


There have been late nights, early starts, and every single Saturday morning...


There have been YEARS of writing, planning, and desperately trying to make things add up...


And now, WE'VE DONE IT! πŸŽ‰


🌟 We've raised the money for our new community building!



(This is the result of "The Acorn Project" - the Project I have been leading since October 2016.)



The new building will be installed in the summer holidays, and open (coronavirus-permitting) in September.



I can't quite explain what this Project has cost me, in emotion, stress and time.


If I'd known at the start, I might never have taken it on...


But I am OVER THE MOON we've got here 😁



πŸ’– I've worked with the best team ever - the fantastic, dedicated women of the Horringer Pre-School Committee.


πŸ’– And I've made an amazing friend in my fellow Project Manager Ruth Walker (pictured above).


πŸ’– I couldn't have got through it without her - we've kept each other going even when we thought it was impossible.



So THANK YOU to everyone who has donated, or encouraged us! 😍

In other news this week...


...a different way to set goals, and what your emojis say about you!



1. ✴️ SET AN INTENTION, NOT A WISH ✴️


"I wish...


More than anything...


More than life...


More than jewels...


More than the moon...


More than ANYTHING..."


One of my favourite musicals is Stephen Sondheim's "Into the Woods", a dark re-telling of fairy tales including Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Little Red Riding Hood.


The opening song has the main characters all WISHING for something.


But we all know that wishes can be complicated, and so it turns out...


❓So what can we do instead of wish?


This weekend, try setting an INTENTION.


This is a statement in the present tense that expresses how you want to be.


🌟 Do you want to give yourself a well-deserved rest?


🌟 Do you want to enjoy playing with your children?


🌟 Or do you simply want to enjoy the sunshine?


Whatever it is, express it as "I AM..."


It is a different type of goal-setting - and much more powerfully motivating than a wish...

2. ✴️ WHAT DO YOUR EMOJIS SAY ABOUT YOU? ✴️


How do you see the world - through a positive filter, or a negative one?


If you want a clue, have a look at your emojis...


That collection of "most recently used" will tell you whether your communications are more πŸ˜‚ or 😱.


Why does this matter? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ


Because our reality is based on our perception πŸ‘€


What we focus on becomes true βœ…


And unfortunately our brains are programmed towards noticing, and remembering, the negative.


(It's kept homo sapiens alive, but it's not that helpful to happiness in the 21st century...)


So imagine the difference to your life if you are more 😑 than 😍.
